I love this product. When it first arrived something was wrong with the motion detector, so I called the manufacture and they sent a replacement right out to me, no hassles or anything (and I bought it through amazon)
The motion detector has a wide range and two settings, (one with noise and spray, one with just noise).
I would say after about 2-3 weeks, my cat stopped using our couch as her bed and hasn’t been back on it since (5-6 months)
I haven’t even needed the refill! I think I’ll bring this outside for my garden in the summer.
This is a must have if you are tired of your cat “owning your home”!

Ssscat is safe and effective. My cats don’t like to be sprayed so they stay away from the area of the spray. I have bought several Ssscats and have found that they do vary on how often they spray, and on the range of their sensors. However, even when they don’t spray every time a cat comes near it, the cats don’t want to be near the Ssscats. I find the Ssscat cost to be on the high side. I have found that buying the refills in bulk is a better deal.

Ssscat is the first and only product I have found to keep my cats off the kitchen counter. I highly recommend it.

We have owned four of these for about a year now, and I can say they WORK!! The cats really try to avoid them. One of them has figured out that if he can knock it over, it is not nearly as effective. We now have to find ways to keep it proped up.
The only downside to the Ssscat system is the price of these spray cans. They do not have nearly 200 sprays, as claimed, and I have found each one of the sensor heads is different in its sensitivity.
I am wondering if perhaps the heads leak some of the gas out over time, and that is why they seem to run out too soon. The cats test them occasionally, and when one runs out, they know it.
All in all, the system works as advertised. If only the price of the cans were less!!

I have 3 small dogs who like to roam into areas of the house they should not. When I leave the house, I activate the SSScat canisters in rooms where I don’t want the dogs. Since using this product, I haven’t found any “surprises” on the carpet when I return home.

SSSCAT has been a lifesaver in our house. Our cats, as precious as they are, like to scratch at our bedroom door at night because they can’t stand not being in the same room as we are. The constant scratching would keep us awake. SSSCAT has changed all that. They are terrified of the puff of air, and we now can sleep peacefully (although the one cat will start to meow when she thinks it’s early enough for us to get up). Worked great for the Christmas tree as well. One downside, refills go pretty fast, and our cats are smart enough to test out the SSSCAT by throwing their cat toys in front of the door to see if it goes off or not, thereby necessitating the need to have it on most nights. Well worth it though!

This product works well. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to keep their cats off of ANYTHING. However, they used to make it with a sound then the spray came. That was more effective. Also the cans don’t last long. They used to be bigger for the same price.
Since there are no others on the market this the best.

I am so glad I found this product.
I love cats and I have two :”double trouble” oriental kittens. Their playtime is like an assault from a demolition Derby. Counter tops, leather sofa and even my car are games for these 8 sets of claws.
I started placing SSSCat in strategic locations and it was like having a magic wand. Almost overnight, these places became cat-taboo. The best achievement was to be able to have a fully decorated Christmas tree totally unmolested for 3 weeks, thanks to the 3 “bodyguards” at its foot.
One additional funny comment: The hair spray cannister on my bathroom shelf has acquired an additional function: It has become an anti-cat device. I saw my older kitten take one look at it and turn away from the shelf ASAP
Wonderful! This may not stand the test of time but it was amusing to watch.
The reason for the 4 stars: The refills are a little too costly.

I have used this product before, but couldn’t find refills locally. I didn’t realize until the refills arrived that the cans were much smaller than the ones I originally purchased with the battery-operated systems. Still works well, but not as good a value, with the smaller cans.
