One of our cats likes to piddle on the futon in our porch. I have two ssscats set up in there. Now she stays away even though they are not turned on. She just has to see them and she runs. It is a safe, effective, and humane way to deal with any kitties who might have a favorite spot to pee, other than the litter box.

This product is great because it catches the cat in the act when you are not home, sleeping, in the other room, etc…We have had this product for about a month but we saw an immediate difference. After our cats got sprayed twice I have not seen them back on the counters since. And now I have moved it to different problem areas in the house. I highly recommend Scccat!

I have a 2-year-old cat who really, *really* wants to play at 4 am and doesn’t appreciate being put out of the bedroom — she’ll scratch at the door non-stop until we let her back into the room in the morning. My husband found out about SSScat a couple months ago, and since we’ve been using it our cat keeps a respectful distance from the door until we are ready to wake up. It’s amazing, and worth every penny.
One note about refills — after the SSScat refill that came with the kit ran out, we tried to use an air duster can refill to save a little money, but the air pressure (and air puff effectiveness on its intended target…) doesn’t match the power of the original SSScat refill.

Despite our best efforts (multiple clean litter boxes, vet check, deoderizing the spot), our kitty was peeing in the corner of our alcove — ALWAYS while we were sleeping or out of the room. It was frustrating because we were never there to catch her in “the act” and couldn’t correct the behaviour. SSSCat really works — she won’t go near the corner anymore and she hasn’t messed anywhere else in the house. I highly recommend it. The peace of mind is great!

Cats and kitties get into bad habits. SSSCat – Automated Cat Repellent does the job of breaking those habits. Once the cat gets sprayed the first time by that puff of air, it will warily avoid the area of the device. You can turn off the device and at least my cat stayed clear of the area if it can see the Scat Cat from its approach.
The device is harmless but it has startled me countless times when I have forgotten about it. If it does that to me, imagine how it affects the cat! Little boys though, gleefully love setting it off.
This is my second order of two SSSCat’s. For my first two units, the sensor wore out in about a year to 18 months. Either the tone quits and it just puffs air or the tone works and will not shoot out the air puff even though the can feels heavy with compressed air.
It is a highly effective product but in my experience it will wear out too soon.
SSSCat uses four AAA batteries that can run down quickly. I use rechargeable Energizer batteries as in most of my other gadgets. The initial expense of rechargeables is high but they last for years of heavy use with proper recharging.

Previously I used a natural spray I found at Pet co. While it worked great on one of my cats it didn’t deter the other at all from scratching. I recently added two kittens and wanted to be prepared for correcting unwanted behavior from the start. Most of the reviews on the spray were similar to the results I had myself. I saw this and although it seemed a bit high priced decided to give it a try. So far I am very impressed. Mine does have both the spray and or sound option. It is a medium sound with good blast of spray following. It cures them after only a couple experiences with the unit. So far the only draw back is that since it is motion activated people passing by the same area tend to set it off as well. I am also curious to see how long one can will last before needing replacement. Overall I LOVE this product!

This product works wonderfully. The cat only has to get sprayed several times and it won’t even come near the area again with the can just sitting there…you don’t even have to turn it on again, the presence of the can alone keeps them away.

We have had a heck of a time teaching our 8 year old cat not to jump on the dining room table or the kitchen counters. He always knew it was a “no no” if we were in the room, but when left alone we would find proof that he was still getting up on those surfaces and knokcing things over, eating plants, etc. These “sprayers” are the only thing we’ve found so far that consistently work whenever we’re away or at night while we are sleeping to keep our little fur ball off the table and counters. They are a bit on the expensive side (and we had to buy 3), but well worth it! The spray is basically just a puff of air and is harmless except for startling kitty the first few times until they learn to stay down.

In short, it’s genius because:
- IT JUST WORKS.
- It does not harm the cat in any way
Only (minor) downside:
- People trigger it more often than the cat!
The full story:
Ok, so I have a lovely black cat. She purs. She plays. And she used to pee.
For 2 months after my boyfriend moved in, the cat peed EVERYWHERE. Anywhere he’d sit would be the next litter spot. She’d be litter trained without fault for 2 years, so that wasn’t the issue.
Of course, I took her to the vet – twice. $200 a pop. The result? She’s not sick. She’s just jealous. Great.
It got to be so bad, that I would go do laundry of the couch cover, and before I got back in the living room, she’d already peed on the replacement. I tried scotch tape, I tried strong scent to deter her, I tried putting the litter next to the couch so she’d go there instead, adding another litter, changing the place of food…
A friend introduced me to the SSSCAT can. I was willing to try ANYTHING at that point (short of killing the cat or the boyfriend). And I now swear by it. The cat has NOT peed on any furniture since we’ve put it on the couches. Not on the carpet, not on the tables, not on the couch. NOWHERE.
SSSCAT, I love you. I owe you my life and my furniture.

This is an excellent product.
One tip: we ran through an entire can of the air in a day. However, if you get a big 12oz can of canned air, pop off the top (be careful not to rip off the white nozzle — you don’t want it exploding in your hand) and pop the sensor on top, you get a cheaper, longer lasting refill.
